Apparition - Cemetery

Here's a closeup of one of the illustrations I painted some months ago for "Niente di Umano", a short novel written by Beatrice La Tella and published by Moscabianca Edizioni.
Layering different types of brushes on top of each other when rendering the stone angel was a delight, while the most frustrating thing about the piece was figuring out how to make the printed version work... The contrast levels of the image had to be readjusted several times :')
Anyway! Enjoy this angel statue bathing in crepuscular light, but wait... what's that in the corner? Bright red plumage? Hmmmm... 🤔👀
